Luail host Moving in Collaboration International Intensive, a two-week intensive at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, UL, running from July 7–18, 2025.
Designed as a space for experimentation and exchange, the programme invites artists working at the intersection of dance and music to explore how these forms meet, merge, and challenge each other in real time.
Facilitators include Jonathan Burrows, Liz Roche, Mel Mercier and Judith Ring, leading a diverse cohort of 30+ participants. We’re delighted to welcome five choreographers – Fionnuala Doyle Wade, tyroneisaacstuart, Phoebe Jewitt, Easton Nguyễn, and Jack Philp – alongside four composers Barry O’Halpin, Jenn Kirby, Jorge Villoslada Durán, and Barbara Ellison.
They are joined by 18 dancers drawn from the Luail Ensemble, Step Up Dance Project, Maiden Voyage Dance, and UL’s MA in Contemporary Dance programme. Rehearsal Directors include Gloria Ros (Luail) and Lucia Kickham (Step Up). A trio of live musicians will join to deepen the dialogue between movement and sound.
This is a rare opportunity to co-create across disciplines, explore the messy beauty of creative collision, and build new artistic languages together. We can’t wait to share what emerges.
